On Monday, August 22nd, I went on a tour at the Sidney Opera House. It really is a piece of work! Sadly though, the Danish architect Jørn Utzon didn't live till the end of his project. It was a sad story, and somewhere Swedish Höganäs was involved as part of the construction.
I would like to see a performance while being here, so I looked it up:
There is some British comedy show this week, starting Wednesday, but I'm still not sure...
Should I make a reservation? Nah, probably not, costs like a gazillion AUD, and surely I like "Mr. Bean", but other then that it's not my cup of tea.
Tuesday August 23rd there was sunlight! I took the ferry to Taronga Zoo,
and I finally got to see a platypus!! Had anyone known me back in high school one would know how much the platypuses fascinate me. 😍
A BIG koala bear:
And many more animals... Kangaroo:
Tasmanian devil:
Gorilla and baby:
Pelican (Flamingo?):
Emu:
Baby Elephant:
...and many, many more animals.
There were no "big cats", as the zoo was under reconstruction, but there will be - later this year. Or next year, I can't remember which. No giraffes, no zebras...
Later that evening, on Tuesday, I had bought myself a ticket to Sydney's own IMAX movie theatre, where I saw "The Legend of Tarzan".
I actually thought the IMAX would be bigger, that the screen itself would "surround" me, like the Swedish Cosmonova does. But no. 🙁
Today, Wednesday 24th I went to see Disney's Aladdin on Capitol Theatre - a theatre that looks really lovely, like theatres used to look in the olden days. This production is shown in a very limited time. Sadly the (better) Swedish voice of Aladdin - Peter Jöback - did not star in this production.
Oh well, one can't have it all. The show was spectacularly amazing! 😍
And how in the world did they make that magic carpet fly? I looked so closely, saw no strings, no lift, and the magic carpet was like "rolling" from side to side, up and down!
Magic? 😃🌠
